Depends on you man, get powerprep CD (if i remember) give a try and see your score, if you cant improve, go to institute but i dont know what they teach because
i never went to institute and got over 280

The answer to your question is very relative. TOEFL ko lagi institute ma padhnu nai parcha bhanne chaina. It depends on how much you are comfortable with the language and how well (if at all ) you work independently under no-pressure environment.. you know no HWs.. no assignments kinda scenario. If you ask me, I recommend getting a lot of practice CDs/ books available in the market and doing it under the comfort of your PC. Save the money and go shopping :D I took it two years back.. the format might have changed since then but its TOFEL nonetheless :P I guess they have introduced verbal section as well.. which ofcourse works better for you since you dont much of a practice to talk and seriously no institute can 'teach' you how to.. you have to work on that on your own. SO yea.. go get yourself some serious practice CDs and spend an hour or so a day for 10-15 days.. and you'll do just fine. Goodluck
