Thanks for all the info. Regarding the I - 797, do you need the original document or will a copy do?? I cannot remember if I was given an original but I sure do have a copy of it. But, I do have the orginal part of the bottom (the I-94).

to Birkhe2006, They would deny H1 in the case of extension or New H1, if that job is other than needed skilled employee category (Programmer, Nursing) and you try to extend H1 for Psychology, Sociology related field, which are no longer needed in US would deny.
