Does any F-1 student have experience traveling Nepal through London changing airlines in London? I am thinking to travel to Nepal via London and wondering if I need to get the transit visa. I did little research and my conclusion so far is if we (F-1) are not changing the airlines/airport in London we are exempt from the requirement to hold a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV). But if we are changing airlines/airport in London we need to get VISITOR-IN-TRANSIT visa. Page:

Could anybody please help me clarify things? I am totally confused.

I talk to the British consular here in US but he told me not to worry as i don't need a transit visa.It's $1.90 per min something like that to talk to consular office. If you guys felt doubt talk to them but i am sure u don't need a transit visa here in USA until they changed the rules frm last year
