Hey Sajha folks/tech people,

I just got a DELL desktop/tower (inpison 5305). Just a regular desktop wi th windows vista. I have an old/used monitor with me, so I only bought the tower. When I connect the tower to my old monitor with a VGA cable that came with the monitor, the operating system(vista) does start/boot. But then once I enter my password, the monitor goes blank and gives the following message:

OUT OF RANGE

VGA IN   : 1024 cross 768

H.SYNC  : +       68.5 KHZ

V.SYNC :  +       84.7   HZ

CLOCK  : 184.0       MHZ

and thats it. I am just dying to use my desktop, and I am stuck at this point. Do you think this is a problem with the monitor? Thanks in advance for your suggestions/help.

I think you are right. I can login using safe mode. But I am  having a hard time uninstalling the video driver..the driver doesnt seee to have an unistall option. I am sure I am missing something...its vista..so if you have any tips on how to unistall video driver using safe mode, please do let me know. I

you just have to go to safemode and follow the steps below to uninstall the display driver

1.right click on my computer icon
2. Go to properties
3. go to Hardware tab and click on device manager button
4. You will see a list of drivers for corresponding hardwares.
5. Click on diplay adapters (should be the third option)
6. Right click on it and proceed with uninstall option

thats it and after uninstalling, it should ask you to reinstall after a restart.
