I got my work permit through asylum but my case is in pending. In this situation am i eligible to join army?

On Defense Department's official fact sheet {see section Overall Eligibility 1. (iii)}, if one was out of status before applying for asylum, that sub-clause might render them eligible, albeit on a case by case basis. If one was In Status during asylum application then one is definitely eligible. (But all other conditions should also be met - like maintained lawful status preceding 2 years before application in one of the listed visa categories).

Wish I can answer ur question. I am sure if u ask a local recruiter they will be able to give u fact bout it rather than second guessing here. Just my words.

I think it depends on what status u were before applying asylum. If u were out of status then u won't be able to join.And pending status will get g845 rejected. Its better to make sure from recruiter.Been in army for 1+ yrs. Its new experience, excitement and lots of new things. Its not like what u think in civilian life. Don't give up hope.

best thing to do in your case: go talk to a recruiter and if he cant answer, go talk to the station incharger (commander).
